THE GAPI UPDATE

Friends I am indeed sorry for having awaken your interest in the activities under GAPI and playing it cool.

Anyway it wasn't ma fault, though I have to carry the blame.

Friends we are already into the month of GAP-C, now the call is for you and I to let the world know about the events to come starting late this month running through the month of November to 1st December.

On 28th october, 2006 (this month) the Abstinence flag for the first time is going to be raised. In Uganda, this event will take place at Kololo airstrip and many people have been invited including a reknown music star Papa San. Other activities other than the gathering at Kololo will include an Abstinence Pride Match along the main streets of Kampala (Capital city of Uganda). In the month of November, there will be outreach to various institutions where lectures/teachings shall be conducted about the value of abstinence in fighting the scourge of HIV/AIDS especially among the youths.

So you and I have been called to take part in this campaign for the better of our generation and the generation after us.

THE GLOBAL AIDS PREVENTION INITIATIVE

(GAPI)

GAPI - is a all about innovating a new thinking in AIDS prevention led by all time, well known, global AIDS activist-Pastor Martin Ssempa and a number of global activists both young and old.

Qn. What is in store from GAPI?

Ans. Much more is in Store, but of focus now is "THE GLOBAL AIDS PREVENTION CAMPAIGN (GAP-C)" to take place late this year for a period of 3o solid days, so be prepared and do not allow to be left behind this extra-voluminous event.

Qn. What is the theme for the campaign?

Ans. Break the silence of Abstinence Stigma

Qn. What is abstinence stigma (AS) then?

Ans. AS is negative, biased, and hostile attitude towards sexual abstinence a major protective measure for many young people against HIV/AIDS as well as other STDs. It results in to internal shame, guilt, and psychological stress and torture!!!!!!

Qn. What is the relationship between AS and HIV/AIDS?

Ans. AS leads to high abstinence commitment failure tantamounting to high sexual activity including unprotected sexual intercourse and final acquisition of STDs and HIV/AIDS.

I believe currently you are tuned to getting more information about GAP-C, and that is very good desire!!!! However, there is a saying that "too much of anything is bad." Therefore, I have chosen to let out the information in bits so that I can receive comments as well as your interests in participating in the campaign. You are welcome and you can participate just where you are, because this is a global event that everyone is welcome to, no ethinicity, no religion, no mention it; you only need to have the heart and desire to stop AS where you are. In other words you have to be abstinencephilic or be faithful in marriage and would like to extend protection to you sons and daughters.

Wow!!!!!!!!

Hope you have had a wonderful palm sunday celebration for those who love to do so. I am glad to be part of you at the moment though not where you are, so donot be scared, cool down and relax.

By the way, I have just joined the world of bloggers. Hey! donot laugh because you also once in a time started just the way am starting perhaps even worse compared to me depending on the parameter you use to measure it.

Once upon a time, there was a young brilliant and vibrant man who was sent to unknown yet described "village". So early in the morning in the wee hours he got up his "portables" and set off to this unknown village. In the early part of his journey he met many people but as he proceeded further the number of people along the way gradually dwindled. And at the latter part of the journey, the number of people decreased telescopically to zero. However, somewhere along the way he saw a 'ground-curved' old mzee seated at the door step of his ramshackled 'sack' admiring the artwork of his creator in the late hours of the day. This youngman because of his pride ignored this mzee and went his way. After 5km trek, the road perhaps path he was taking branched and unfortunately he did not know which direction to take and the only option he had was to come back and ask the mzee he previously ignored, for further direction. This was a dillema to him not because the place was far but because he found it hard to talk to a man whom he previously ignored and did not even say hello!

So what does this mean? Please donot scratch yor heads, it simply means that it is very very important to say hello perhaps yello to new people we meet along the way as we take through a journey. It may be a physical journey or not. So today as a new entrant in the world of bloggers, I would like to say hello or yello, whichever, to you all, before moving further. I guess I have bored you "hell" but expect great and wonderful things in the next post of MY LIFE GURANTEE blog. Wish you the best in all your endeavours.
